About the PXG 0317 CB

The 0317 CB is the cavity back of PXG's 0317 line, shown in November 2023 alongside the hollow-body 0317 T and on sale from January 2024, joining the 0317 ST blades launched a year earlier. It is a compact, solid-bodied players head forged from 8620 carbon steel with a CNC-milled face and back and a Precision Weighting port in the centre of the head, so swing weight can be set at fitting without moving the centre of gravity. Its loft, lie, length, offset and bounce chart is identical to the 0317 ST's — a 33-degree 7-iron and 46-degree pitching wedge — which PXG pitches as the basis for blended sets: CB long irons over ST short irons, or CB scoring clubs under the stronger-lofted 0317 T. PXG stamps the two scoring clubs W and G; they are listed here as PW and GW.

Frequently asked questions

What is the loft of a PXG 0317 CB 7-iron?

The PXG 0317 CB 7-iron has a loft of 33 degrees, a standard lie of 62.5 degrees and a standard length of 37.0 inches.

When did the PXG 0317 CB come out?

PXG announced it in November 2023, alongside the 0317 T, and it went on sale in January 2024.

What is the difference between the PXG 0317 CB and 0317 T?

The CB is a solid-bodied cavity back with traditional lofts (33 degrees at the 7-iron); the T is a hollow tour iron with a tungsten toe weight and lofts one to two degrees stronger (32 at the 7-iron, 51 at the gap wedge against the CB's 50).

Can the PXG 0317 CB be combined with the 0317 ST?

Yes. The two share the same loft, lie, length, offset and bounce chart, so a common build is CB long irons blended into ST short irons.

Where it sits in the lineup

Introduced in 2023, the PXG 0317 CB is a current players set in the PXG range, with no replacement announced. New sets are built to the standard lofts, lies and lengths in the chart above, though a fitting can move any of them — so confirm the numbers on the order sheet. Used sets appear on eBay, 2nd Swing and Golf Avenue, and should be measured against this chart before buying.

Data compiled from:
  • PXG's current 0317 irons family page (pxg.com/products/0317-irons) — the full 0317 CB spec table (loft, length, lie, offset and bounce for the 3-iron through the G wedge), identical to the 0317 ST chart, with the 'Solid Bodied Cavity Back' description.
  • 2ndswing.com PXG 0317 CB Iron Set specification table — identical loft, lie, length, offset and bounce figures for the 3-iron through gap wedge.
  • pluggedingolf.com 'PXG 0317 CB Irons Review' — the solid-body forged construction, the Precision Weighting port in the centre of the head, the 3-iron-through-gap-wedge availability matching the 0317 ST for combo sets, and the release following the ST by roughly a year.
  • The 0317 T record in this database — PXG showed the 0317 CB and 0317 T in November 2023 and put them on sale in January 2024, so year_introduced records the announcement year per this database's convention and some listings date the model 2024.
  • Note: swing weight is not fixed — the Precision Weighting port is set at fitting — so it is omitted. Stock shafts are omitted because retail listings disagree (Dynamic Gold Mid 115 at 2ndswing; Elevate and KBS Tour elsewhere).
